The Wedding Tailoring Timeline

The best wedding tailoring stories are boring: everything was ready early, everything fit, everyone photographed well. Boring is engineered. It starts six weeks out — eight if the party is larger than six people.

Week one is decisions: palette, groom differentiation, budget per garment. Weeks two and three are measurements and first construction. Week four, first fittings. Week five, refinements. Week six belongs to buffer — because someone in every wedding party travels, changes size or joins late.

Design the groom's look first and let the party's tailoring frame it. Satin lapels, a different colour depth or a three-piece against two-pieces — small contrasts read clearly in photographs.
